    2022 end of year update

    Posted by GetterRocka - December 30th, 2022

Since the end of the year is fast approaching I thought I'd give a bit of an update on my work.

I have been working on the next chapter of Field Notes from the Galactic Age for a good while now, and I am close to finishing the sketches for the major fight sequence I think. There is still much work to be done, as I will likely include some story after the fight sequence and I must do the lineart, and likely coloring/shading.

I think sketches are probably the hardest and most time consuming part of making the comic I can think of though: it is the step in which I must think of the composition of all the contents of the panels while with lineart I essentially trace my own sketches and then I can just color those. Shading is more involved than coloring but still easier than sketches probably (could be more difficult depending on the level of shading you are doing though).

I still continue to learn very much about comics over time, so each chapter of Galactic Age should be better than the last. In the middle of working on Galactic Age Alpha, I read Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud, which taught me just- so much- about comics and I think reading that book will have been a big step in the evolution of my stories.

Lately when I'm not working on art I have often been playing Bloons TD6 I like funny monke game :)
