I draw lots of fanart for things I like, Project Moon being one of the more prevalent sources. They say every 1000 years I release a comic.

So remember how literally yesterday I posted that I was nearly done with Galactic Age: Alpha? Well turns out I was closer to a finished state than I thought. It starts today!

Figured I should give an update on one of my biggest projects I am working on right now because it has been a long while since I mentioned it or released a chapter.

I have made pages 29-57 in a (probably) complete state, all of which are a part of the next chapter Galactic Age: Alpha. Galactic Age: Alpha will be purely plot driven, as opposed to the previous chapters of Field Notes from the Galactic Age primarily featuring the log entries describing different things Dr. Lara finds on planet Sanmite.

The pages are in color and feature simple shading. The biggest part of Galactic Age: Alpha is done; I am now working on wrapping it up. The section I'm working on is sort of like a light novel, in that there are pages of art accompanied by pages of text.

I have no idea how soon this will all be, I wouldn't set expectations high. However, I have been hard at work on Galactic Age: Alpha and wished to share how it's been going.

Here's a panel to show how a lot of the chapter will look. This is one of the earlier pages which I sketched out and drew months ago, so my skills are much better than this now and later pages do look better.iu_975439_10868458.webp

Since the beginning of the 100 follower celebration, I have received 6 requests to draw. Now I have completed all 6.

I have enjoyed fulfilling these requests. There are still 4 more slots open, so if you haven't yet, you may ask for a free request, as long as it follows the rules outlined in the original post.

That's all, have a good day :)

It's been a month since my news post where I announced my 100 follower celebration, so I thought it'd be worth following up on it. 4/10 requests are done and posted, though I have received 6 requests so far so you could consider it 4/6. Even though it's been a month, there are still 4 slots to request me to draw something!

Here are the finished requests:

Currently, the request to draw V1 vs. Nothing There is a work in progress. My progress with the Kawaii-chan (captured in 4k) was delayed due to my submission for the picayune dreams art contest. Similar to that, the V1 vs. Nothing There art has been delayed a little bit. I am currently working on a piece focused on Providence from Risk of Rain, for the possibility of having the piece featured in the next Risk of Rain dev thoughts. This is on the Risk of Rain discord, in case you want to check it out.

I have also been very slowly working on the next chapter of Galactic Age. I was having some internal trouble deciding how I felt about it, so I went through periods of time just not working on it. I think it'll exist eventually though.

Well, that is all for now. Buh-bye

I will draw 10 requests

I have attained 100 fans, which is pretty cool. Thank you to all my fans, I really appreciate that you all chose to follow me. My goal when posting my work is for it to have, at the least, even the smallest effect on someone. Even if that effect is nothing more than a small piece of cheap entertainment, the faith that my work has a small effect on anyone is still good to me.

When it comes to recent works that have really affected me, what immediately comes to mind is Project Moon's Library of Ruina and Tatsuki Fujimoto's Look Back. They are both incredible works and I could not recommend playing and reading them respectively enough. Library of Ruina however is also one of the purest forms of suffering when it comes to the vertical difficulty spike.

Now, let us cut to the fun part of this post.

I will draw 10 requests commented below.

1 request for every 10 followers with 100 followers, you see.

I do have a couple rules/expectations:

  1. I will not draw NSFW prompts.
  2. I will post finished requested art to the art portal.
  3. I will not draw ships.

A fun coincidence I noticed: this also happens to be my 10th news post on NG. Neat, huh?

Here's a google doc with the requests I have recorded to work on, along with written progress updates

Well, that's that. Get requesting!!

Since the end of the year is fast approaching I thought I'd give a bit of an update on my work.

I have been working on the next chapter of Field Notes from the Galactic Age for a good while now, and I am close to finishing the sketches for the major fight sequence I think. There is still much work to be done, as I will likely include some story after the fight sequence and I must do the lineart, and likely coloring/shading.

I think sketches are probably the hardest and most time consuming part of making the comic I can think of though: it is the step in which I must think of the composition of all the contents of the panels while with lineart I essentially trace my own sketches and then I can just color those. Shading is more involved than coloring but still easier than sketches probably (could be more difficult depending on the level of shading you are doing though).

I still continue to learn very much about comics over time, so each chapter of Galactic Age should be better than the last. In the middle of working on Galactic Age Alpha, I read Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud, which taught me just- so much- about comics and I think reading that book will have been a big step in the evolution of my stories.

Lately when I'm not working on art I have often been playing Bloons TD6 I like funny monke game :)

I am really sorry for what I have done. I accidentally gave Pochita way too many toes.

My brain had a fart and forgot dog paws have 4 toes at the front and not 5. Pochita has 3 but I was trying to make it more realistic and I failed.
